Liturgical and Sacramental Services

The Divine Liturgy is the central expression of our faith. Ever since the first Easter, Christians have been gathering on the first day of the week to celebrate the presence of the Risen Lord among them. At the Divine Liturgy we praise God and thank Him for all His blessings. We bring ourselves before God with our needs, weaknesses, joys and sorrows. We listen to His word and are instructed in the Christian way of life. Finally we are nourished and strengthened by the living Jesus Christ Himself, Who comes to us in the Holy Eucharist.

The sacraments of initiation are the means by which a person enters into the new life of Christ. Through baptism, a person becomes a child of God, a member of the Christian family. Through Chrismation the person receives the seal of the Holy Spirit, the power to live the Christian life into which he/she has been baptized. The Holy Eucharist is the ongoing spiritual nourishment wherein the person receives the real presence of Jesus Christ. It is the responsibility of the parents and godparents to nurture the baptized child in this “new life”. Their own faith life and active participation in the worship life of the Church are very important in this effort. Arrangements for the sacraments of initiation should be made in advance with the pastor.
This sacrament unites two people in holy wedlock in the presence of Christ and in the presence of the Church faithful. Couples seeking marriage should strive to be active in the worship life of the Church. Arrangements for the sacrament of Holy Matrimony should be made with the pastor at least 6 to 9 months prior to the wedding day.
This is a sacrament for the healing of body and soul. This sacrament is offered to one who is very ill or facing major surgery. Please call the pastor on behalf of the one to be anointed. In case of emergency, call at any time.
This is a sacrament of building a stronger unity with God. We approach God in humility and sorrow for our wrongdoings. God, in turn, embraces us with His love. The sacrament is available before or after daily liturgies or by arrangement with the pastor.
The pastor visits parishioners in the hospitals, seniors’ homes and at home. Please feel free to call and request a sacramental or other visit for the sick or shut-in.
